Tiya Adé has been a fixture on DC's music scene for decades, wowing audiences with her rich voice and electric performances.

Known professionally as Tiya!, she has mastered a variety of musical styles, including jazz, blues, gospel, and R&B. She can get funky with the best of them, and belt out a bluesy melody or a silky, romantic song.

She has performed with illustrious bands and musicians throughout her career both in the U.S. and abroad. Tiya! has appeared with such luminaries as Cecily Tyson, Ruby Dee, Odetta, Pete Seeger, Nelson and Winnie Mandela, and Roberta Flack. She is also an accomplished arranger, songwriter, and producer.

A native Washingtonian, Tiya! is a lead vocalist with DC’s renowned band leader, Bobby Felder, and his various bands and orchestras. Until its closing in 2015, she was the resident vocalist at the historic Channel Inn Hotel, the famous watering hole for the District’s political and business elite. For over 16 years, Tiya! performed at this legendary venue.

She also sings, writes, and produces with “In Process . . ." — an African American women’s a cappella ensemble, performing songs of consciousness and awareness. She is currently the producer of Jazz@Wesley, a jazz series that draws over 100 people to each of its monthly concerts.

Tiya! believes that music can inspire, connect, and bring joy.

"I booked Tiya! for my wedding, and I couldn't be happier. She sang "our song" at the ceremony and had everyone crying. Then at the reception, she had everyone dancing! Her energy and stage presence are unbelievable. I recommend her highly. She made our special day extra special."
